This is what it looks like, and it’s for making cold brew coffee. Some people do it with a french press, filtering bags, cheesecloth... however you decide to do it, cold brew coffee is great. Really big caffeine punch (much stronger than the typical American drip brew) and basically no acidity.

It’s better in the summertime but I’m having some now anyway. It’s also tasty with milk, but even nicer if you use cream or a Bailey’s- type liqueur. Unfortunately, I have none of those items.

It’s just ground coffee steeped in water for a while - at least 12 hours but less than 24. Filter out the grounds and it looks no different from regular coffee. AFAIK I think you can heat it up as well to have hot coffee without the acidity.

Not that acidity is bad, but when you like drinking a lot of coffee it can be rough on the stomach.

I think you can heat up cold brew and get a very nice cup of coffee (as you say, little acidity)  if the cold is really annyoing you.

No worries, I identify as someone who prefers  coffee flavored coffee as well.  You can add flavors but I don’t need coffee flavored sugar.

What is your coffee to water ratio? I tried cold brew about two weeks ago (might have been after one of your earlier posts) and it was a bit too strong. Closer to iced coffee strength where you need the ice cubes to water it down a bit.

For the 1 liter jug I probably use around 60-80 grams of ground coffee. I eye it out, but that’s what the little booklet that came with it suggested. I think some websites tell you to add an even more ridiculous amount of coffee, but this works fine and produces really strong coffee.

You are definitely supposed to dilute it, probably about 1:1. I don’t mind drinking it straight but the caffeine hit can make me jittery. I just use milk/water and just add bit by bit to taste.

Not that you asked me, but I use about 42 fluid oz. of water for 3 oz. (mass) of ground coffee, and this seems to work nicely.
